Want to take a boat ride while visiting The Chittenden House?

Hello,

Well who wouldn’t want to explore the Puget Sound while on vacation in Seattle.  There are so many wonderful things to do here while on vacation, so why not take a boat ride?  There are so many options of rides to take, I will explore a few of them.

The most popular attraction is taking the Bainbridge or Bremerton Ferry.  These are not small ferries you maybe thinking of, these are Jumbo Mark II class ferries,  each with a capacity of 2,500 passengers and a maximum of 202 vehicles. Taking the ferry to Baindbridge is a short ride that clocks in a 30 minutes, and Bremerton takes 60 minutes. If you are not traveling with a car, no worries there are but ride options at either location.  If you are looking for a Nautical day go to Bremerton to see ship docks, Navy Ships and museums about the Aerospace industry in the Pacific Northwest. If Nature and the seaside is more your speed check out Bainbridge.  Take a trip around the island for an amazing visual tour.

If you are looking for something a little more intimate and slower place for you and a few friends why not rent a Hot Tub Boat?  Yes I said rent a hot tub on the water? Lake Union is where you want to head and there you will be spoiled by the beauty of the Seattle city skyline, Gasworks Park, and cruise along the house boats that line Lake Union. Please note that this will require a booking in advance and is a service that is weather permitting.

If you are an experienced salty sailor, then try your hand and rent your own boat at the Center for Wooden Boats located at South Lake Union. They offer rowboats, canoes/kayaks, and sailboats.  If you want to chart your own course for the day may we suggest riding around Lake Union and taking the Montlake Cut to Lake Washington and spend an entire day on the lake. How about docking at a  Seattle’s Ivar’s Salmon House a local favorite for fresh caught fish dishes.

Whatever your decision is we are sure you will have a fantastic fun filled voyage in Seattle.

Regards,

The Chittenden House
