Seattle Snow Days

February 6th, 2019 by chittendenhouse

Snow Day February

It is another beautiful day in Sunny Seattle today, however you would not have known it by the snow the last few days.  It is rare but a real treat when it snows here, however it usually only lasts for a few days and melts off by the end of the week, leaving memories of fun times and sounds of crushing boots in fresh snow.  Now that the snow is melting and we are increasing seeing spring popping everywhere, from the trees growing back and bulbs coming up to bloom.

Why not see this beauty for yourself and enjoy what we have to offer in such a wonderful city.  Seattle does not close down due to a little snow and cold weather.  So when you visit you will be able to catch a bus, a water taxi or even rent bikes/mopeds through the city.  Through out your stay with us you will be treated to a delicious morning breakfast with our Fabulous cook Mardi that will ready you for the day, (Of course there is COFFEE, this is Seattle). After your day come back and relax in the kitchen, or main room with the owner and her two adorable puppies Max and Masha.

If you are planning on staying with us soon, please follow us on Instagram and like one of our pictures.  The first 10 followers will receive a 10% off discount with their stay.  This spring promotion will apply to new bookings starting February 6th and running until the end of the month.  Please mention the hashtag #Chittendenspringsnow when booking.

Happy Spring Everyone,

The Chittenden House

February Sun outside on the patio to enjoy.

Alki Beach Park, Seattle Washington Attraction

February 4th, 2014 by

Park Hours 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m.

Summer days in Seattle bring locals and visitors alike to Alki Beach Park, a long stretch of beach that runs from Alki Point to Duwamish Head on Elliott Bay. Walking, jogging, rollerblading, volleyball, beachcombing and bicycling any time of year is superb, and in summer it’s a great place to beat the heat. Picnic tables, restrooms and plenty of parking is available.

Speaking of Picnic tables, stop by Husky Deli for the local’s favorite Ruben on Rye and other delights to pack into your picnic basket.  Whatever your sandwich pleasure, the Husky Deli will be sure to accommodate you.  The deli is rich in local history and the homemade ice cream isn’t to be missed.

Once at Alki Beach Park, set back and take in the spectacular views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, marine traffic, and perhaps most fun of all – people watching!
